Still yet to see ...America, but I liked ...The West after the 2nd time. Found the slow pacing a let down after the dollars trilogy first time around, but maybe it's down to the critics brainwashing me I appreciated it more on repeat viewing, every shot is work of art in that movie.

It's the way the tension slowly builds throughout the story until the big showdown when you finally learn the significance of Bronson's harmonica. A Hollywood director wouldn't be allowed to get away with it (wouldn't have the artistic vision either). You should try to see America. I think you'd love it.

The Sound Of... - Butler & McAlmont

New Gold Dream - Simple Minds. A reminder that they were actually really good before they started peddling torpid stadium AOR.

TylerDurden- 08-17-2004
Static-X - "Shadowzone". Don't ask me why, I just dug it up this morning.

I listened to a lovely unabridged Romeo & Juliet radio adaptation with Richard out of Keeping Up Appearances as Friar Lawrence and the chorus. I love unabridged, it means I can view the whole thing as it was intended - as a play - while reading along and falling in love with all that wonderful language.

And it was really a very good job, poor Juliet heartbreakingly desperate after being left alone, one way or another, by her husband, cousin, mother, father, even Nurse. That was all too moving.

Anyway, that lasted 3 hours plus.

listening to Grace now.
