'The Reality Of My Surroundings' by Fishbone arrived today

fine memories!

Saw 'em at the witchwood last year, fantastic gig, possibly better than RHCP at the MEN. I was 5 when that album came out, hmmmm.

Al Di Meola/John McLaughlin/Paco De Lucia - 'Friday Night In San Francisco'

That's a good cover, what is it?

jeffthejiff- 12-04-2004
Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine

not bad, its kinda loud dancy rock with a drummer/singer and bassist. its probably not as good as the cover suggests though.

LasagneOfDoom- 12-04-2004
Might just check it out, it's killing me not being able to access P2P at uni, but it has led to me buying more albums, hmmmm.

Purely out of interest because Jeff's changed his avatar, how did they shoot the cover to Wish You Were Here? Did they actually set someone on fire? Sorry, that's a question that's been niggling for ages and I'm taking the oppurtunity to get it out.

jeffthejiff- 12-04-2004
ive never really thought about it... i think they must have superimposed the fire on it somehow, they cant have actually set someone on fire.

LasagneOfDoom- 12-04-2004
Couldn't he have been wearling like asbestos or something, like when they do it in the movies?

jeffthejiff- 12-04-2004
maybe, but he isnt completely on fire, just in a few places. like his head. they cant asbestosorize someones head, can they?

LasagneOfDoom- 12-04-2004
Hmmm, true, it does look like it's artificially super-imposed to be fair, and to make asbestos look like a suit and someone's hair would be difficult, and expensive, and to just isolate the fire equally so since it would spread.

PS. 'Asbestosorize' is quite the best made up word i've seen in some time.
