Good+Film?

Christian Bale is good in American Psycho, but the film seemed more like a TV pilot then a fully fledged movie. Maybe the transition from book to film was too much of a task for Mary Harron (director). A bold and noble attempt, but kind of unfulfilling. Although, the use of the music-based dialog/references and 80's-era songs (as in the book) are great.

AMER PSY film i thought was faintly bad, but it did spur[m? t?] me on to read "the" book" - and indeed BEE's others - excellent reading for sure.

I agree. Will Oldham has lost his way. Obviously, he thinks it's good, but I think it totally lacks substance. Yeah, the rehash was a hash.

I communicate/hear from Mark spasmodically. He's still Wilcoing and has passed his driving -*test*-('") - he has a car too. Worrying stuff. He's fine, I reckon.

I've hung out with Roberto quite a few times recently, he's started his MA and is hoping to move his life into a more comfortable and happy gear.
